    Just wondering if it is OK to use WD40 to lube the inner barrel of my AEG, if I took the barrel out while lubeing it, so none of the WD got into the internals.

    It damages the hop rubber, in theory you can, in practice you are better off getting silicon oil in case it seeps in to the hop.

    How many times before it does that?

    See, I am skirmishing on sunday, but wont be able to get silicone till nect week, with the finances. If I do get silicone, I cant afford to go skirmishing, but if I don't spray the gun, the BB's will likely not come out, as I haven't sprayed it since the last skirmish 2 weeks ago.

    I suppose if u dont get any near the hop rubber it cant do any harm, is the barrel that dirty that it needs it though.
    Like you said if you were to do it take out the barrel and remove the hop rubber first and give it a good cleaning you should be ok. Have you tried lidl for silicone oil, i dont think the have a permanent stock of it but you mite get lucky, think its about 1.80 a can.

    Lidl? They actually do Silicone spray? Does it say sit on the can, or is it some weird sounding german word?

    Nah it should say it on the can, it comes in a tin with a yellow lid on it.
    Its called W5 Universal Silicone oil a good few lads here on boards use it so its fine to use in your AEG.

    WIll that work? I know i should always clean it with soft tissue, just so you don't scratch the barrel, but will cleaning it dry not affect it? And when you say dry, is is OK to use some lukewarm water?

    Thanks for all the help

    Water =/= dry?
    some cotton cloth and a cleaning rod is all you need.

    I quote "
    What does WD-40 contain?

    While the ingredients in WD-40 are secret, we can tell you what WD-40 does NOT contain. WD-40 does not contain silicone, kerosene, water, wax, graphite, chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), or any known cancer-causing agents.
    " this is taken from the website for wd 40.
    WD 40 is known for keeping water out of and off of anything its put on well on rubber it makes it very brittle and caroads(how the hell do you spell it) it so your hop will but 'Uckd
