    What does PCM sound mean on a Blu-Ray disk, e.g., http://bit.ly/aemefQ .

I was expecting to see Master Audio, TruHd, DTS etc etc. Is PCM a high def format?

    Pulse Code Modulation!
It is "uncompressed" digital audio, unlike Dolby Digital, DTS, and MP3 which
are perceptual audio CODECs designed to reduce the bitrate of a recording while trying to maintain the quality.

Basically it's 2-channel uncompressed digital audio, the same standard used on
    CDs.

Actually, the HD codecs (DTSMA, TrueHD etc) are losless, but compressed (like a zip file) to conserve space on the disc. The compression mechanisms used are different, like 7z or zip or tar etc, so unpacking the more compressed ones requires more computing power, but the resulting audio track is (potentially) identical to the Studio Master.

Also, PCM is not limited to 2 channels - the current HDMI specs provide for (up to) 8 streams (7.1) of LPCM.
