    Hi guys

Have freview for a while now with no problems

However in the last 2 weeks, we have lost Channel 4, +1, E4 and More 4 to bad reception (picture and sound keep skipping)

    What could be causing this?

I did notice that a neighbour across the road got SKY in, but surely that wouldnt cause this.... would it?

Do you have Freeview or Freesat?

They are 2 completely different things, if you don't explain yourself very well nobody will be able to help you.

If it is Freeview, where are you getting it from and with what equipment.

If it's Freesat you've posted in the wrong forum for a start...

Considering those 4 channels are all on the same MUX on Freeview I would imagine that he is talking about Freeview. The fact he said Freeview in his first sentence is also a big giveaway.

No, a Sky dish cannot interfere with an aerial. So, don't be giving your neighbour any hassle!

The MUX these channels are carried on are at a lower power and more prone to interference than the others. Not only that, but DSO works are currently underway on the NI transmitter sites so there will be periods of low power, no service at all and interference on all channels at some point until the new masts are finished. Unfortunatly there is nothing that can be done about this until DSO in 2012 when the reception of all channels will be vastly improved.

If you only want free TV then maybe getting a dish might be the answer and getting a Freesat box. You won't get as many decent channels as Freeview, but will give you rock solid reception of all the BBC/ITV/C4 channels as well as FIVE and some others not on Freeview. It all depends on what channels really you watch the most. You won't get channels like Dave, Dave Ja Vu, Virgin 1, Virgin 1 +1, Sky 3, Yesterday, 4 Music, FIVE USA and FIVER on Freesat (some may be joining Freesat in the coming months/years though), so if these channels aren't watched in your household, then maybe a dish is an option?

Thought saying Freeview in the Subject and 2nd sentence was enough, guess the next time I post I should take a picture and upload everything to be CRYSTAL Clear :)

Thanks Eternal for the reply, I live next to the border so I would imagine the work you are referring to in N. Ireland is casuing me these probelms

I have no iterset in getting a dish, because to be honest, Freview is just bed time TV for me for half an hour before I fell asleep. Its just a bit annoying when something decent is on those channels that I now cannot watch.

    Not a big deal anywho

    Thanks again for the reply

Just a simple suggestion - a setback booster may just pull these signals through for you. You could try Argos - if it doesn't do the trick there's usually a 30 day money back guarantee. Worth a try in my opinion. Out of interest what are you getting Freeview on - an idTV or STB and what make? Some have more sensitive tuners than others.
