Square Grooves

    Heard on Sky Sports when they were doing their coverage of the WGC that at the end of this year (2010) manufactures will stop making square grooved clubs. They will only be allowed to produced the new V grooves.

    And that in 2014 all high amateur tournaments will have to use the new grooves. Tournaments like the US Amateur etc.

    And then that in 2024 (i think) all amateurs will have to use V grooves also.

    Is this actually true or is it just for the American golf ??

    Yes it's true and it'll be worldwide.
    It's been known for the last 18 months/2 years that this was coming.

    Ya i knew i was going to happen to the pros but i never realised it would effect us also. Suppose we gotta stock up on the wedges then so...
