Looking for a headset for PS3 preferably wireless. Prefarably not a cheap one that just wrecks pples heads on your time due to static or other distortions.

My budget would be no more than €100.

    Cheers

I use the offical PS headset, no interferance, HQ audio and it can double as a headset for your phone!
In or around 25 yo yos.

Most if not all Bluettooth headsets will work ...dont go spending a fortune .
I had a really cheap Nokia one before my current Sony Ericsson and they are both the exact same.

Third this... got the official PS headset a few months back from pixmania, been using it for MAG. Crystal clear audio, plus it has a couple of features that "plain ol'" bluetooth headsets don't offer.

I got the 'online essentials pack' from Gamestop, includes bluetooth headset, HDMI cable and replacement triggers for the controller, 30 euro. Headset works a treat, quality deal IMO. :)

The absolute best headset you can get the for ps3 for gaming are the PX21's.

They are in no way wireless, quite the opposite but if you play alot of MW2 or Battlefield these bad boys are the way to go. You can hear everything. I used to do alot of competitive gaming on the PC and obviously a good headset is needed to hear footsteps etc. but I just gave up on this with the PS3 until a friend recommended these.

Yeah I was looking at them. Was a bit disappointed they didn't have any wireless ones. Their site isn't the easiest to browse either. Think i'll be getting the official one if nobody has a better idea.

I was in HMV Grafton St at lunch, in their Re/Play section downstairs they have the SOCOM + mic box marked as €17 - total bargain if (and only if) the mic is with it. That's the official PS3 mic, I'd second all the posters who recommend it, very clear audio sending and receiving (and you can set echo cancelling in PS3 settings also - dunno if that's on all mics?).

Quick Question, can a USB mic be used with BC2? I have a few lying around and if i could talk into that and hear from the TV that would be great. as apose to buying a whole headset.

    thanks

I use a Sennheiser usb wired mic, sound quality is perfect and has a comfortable and sturdy mic. You'll have to ask NotorietyH, WolfForager or ArticFox what the mic pickup is like as they're the poor soles that usually have to listen to my inane witterings on BF. A bit pricey but the build quality is excellent. I've been using this same mic since my CounterStrike days... and that's feckin' years ago .

Tried different wireless mics but found them all uncomfortable or poor quality.

    The sound is pretty good.

again with the turtlebeach, i had the px21's, but they wouldnt work on my 360 like they were suypposed to, so I gtgot a set of x11's (xbox only) and getting a set of p21's(ps3 only) soon.

Does the official Sony headset play game sounds as well? I've got a Logitech USB headset which is fine, but I only get the game sound from the TV.

You need something like the turtlebeaches for in-game sound. You'll need something that will either take the L/R audio from AV socket, SPDIF, or possibly from headphone socket on the TV.

Personally I find the wireless ones, including the Sony are the ones that cause all the feedback - it's generally due to some feedback from TV or headphone. Folks have the gain on the MIC up way too high.
When your setting it under Audio device, talk into it like you normally would - it should rarely hit the top 1/4 of the scale.

Of course everyone who generates the noise doesn't realise it's them, so you may think it's great - but your causing the issues. The amount of times I hear mylsef echoing back over an incorrectly set headset - grr...
