Hi, not sure if this is in the right place, so apologies if it isn't.

I have a 2005 saab 93. It has the manafacturer's stereo in it with a space for an mp3 connection in the storage space under the arm rest.

I would like to run a cable from the back of the stereo to the provided space in the armrest and hook my mp3 player up to it.

    Questions:
    1) What cable do I need to do this? Is it a Saab specific cable?
    2) Where can I get this cable?
    3) Is it expensive?

    4) What control, or lack of, would I have over the mp3 player from the car stereo controls or steering wheel controls?

Seperately, when I try to take out the centre console (stereo system) it only comes out so far. It then stops and won't come any further...I assume that the cables attached at the rear are preventing it from coming any further.
This being the case, it is impossible to do anything at the rear of the stereo.
    Any ideas?

If you have the socket in that pocket, the cable must be there already.........the socket is part of the cable - I know, I've just bought one for mine, and am about to fit it.

    Have you tried it ?

If you have, and it doesn't work, it might have been added afterwards (not by factory), and there's the possibility you have to get a SAAB dealer to activate that input, via the OBD port, with a computer.........

...I know, all this, just to listen to........'toons' !

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

    No, socket isn't there.

    Thanks Jimmy.
