I'm just about to put a test from dev into production and have been testing the above two. But would like other peoples feedback on it.

    What is everyone else using?

Currently have a trixbox in dev. With 25 phones and 100 DDI numbers from Blueface and it is too push a 24x7 operation. With an international base.

I would go with neither, Your much better off installing Asterisk & FreePBX on a clean Linux machine, You should get a full in depth understanding of the underlying software being used in these ISO's before going into production.

Also if its a 24/7 operation setup a high available cluster of 2 or more servers so you don’t have to worry about a single point of failure.

Its sounds like you’re going for a 100% VOIP setup so that makes life a little easier.

    Best of Luck!

    Cheer Tomtata

I've got two Trixbox servers running side by side at the moment.. One is a Virtual and the other is a physical server with a BRI card in it.

I'll get a virtual machine built from scratch and have a look at asterisk and freepbx on there own.

DRDB/Linux HA or possibly just rsync in your case, depending on acceptable failover times might suit your failover requirement.

Asterisk with Freepbx would be better IMHO for lots of reasons, as well as the fact the Trix install doesn't let you customise the partition layouts if you are going the DRDB route for failover/cluster.

Found these they might help you Deals with trixbox, but should be somewhat relevent
