    Hi guys,

Recently bought an African Spurred Tortise, roughly bout 12 months old and seems in good shape. Dont have much experience with tortoises so any info/help/tips would be great..

    Here's the setup:

2 foot glass tank with light built into hood (not uv)
Heat mat on one side (cool side)
    Substrait - 50% sand 50% top soil
small ceramic dish for water (twice the size as himself)
    desert rock
small pland hanging from the top

    cheers..

is it definitely the sulcatta you have?
sometimes people call the greek tortoise a spurred tortoise
maybe pop into your local reptile shop and ask for some advice there to,

if it is the testudo sulcatta
    these guys get huge
they need a higher fiber diet then most tortoises
you will need to change your bulb to uv, asap (for every tortoise)
you will also need a basking light controlled by a thermostat
also make sure the heat mat isn't on the ground, and on the side wall instead
use a good quality vitamin powder with your food, (nutraball is good)
i give mine a bath every 3 days or so in luke warm water for about 20 mins,
(this helps if they get constipated)

make sure you also have plenty of ventilation as you are keeping it in a glass tank, preferably build your self a tortoise table
