Have been learning on an acoustic for about 6 months now but DYING to get my hands on an electric.
Have been trying to research but to be honest there's so much variety and choice and "copies" that my head is deeved trying to decide.
Have kind of fallen for a gibson epiphone les paul custom in alpine white that someone is selling for 280 euros. Do ye think that is too much to pay out for a first guitar?
I was originally looking to spend 200 max and would appreciate any suggestions/help.
    Many thanks :)

For all the threads like this that pop up on here (advice on first electric guitar type stuff), the replies are all usually Yamaha Pacifica guitar and Roland Micro Cube amp. I haven't had first-hand experience with either, but their reputations are great. Bear this in mind, I think! I'm sure the people who have used them will be on here shortly!

If you like that epi LPC in white I say go for it - word of warning though, if you are buying it secondhand get someone who knows guitars to take a look at it first to check for fret wear, loose electronics etc.

The yamaha pacifica IS a great first guitar though, I'd highly recommend playing one before you commit to the epi in case you prefer it.

Thanks for your help guys :) But as usual my impatience has got the better of me. Spoke to the guy again and getting it for 250 (including hard case) From what i can see on the net it seems to be a good deal.
Picking it up tomorrow...very excited :D

250 might be a lot for your very first guitar but not if youve been playing acoustic for 6 months! your about to have a blast so enjoy it!!

Hope you have an amp to go with that....... otherwise it may be a bit quiet. ;)

Enjoy your first (real) guitar. :pac:
