That second link certainly helps get the idea much better. When i looked at the first I was thinking ... so what, it's a photo painted over ... But, very impressive when you delve a little deeper.

Its a real cool idea so long as it is what it says on the tin. body painted people so that they look like paintings.

Why wouldn't it be cool if it was something else?

From a photographic point of view if she had just shot people in a regular manner and then post processed the image to make them come out to look like that would be less impressive I think. the flickr thread makes it clear that she painted the models to make it look like it was a painting and then photographed them. if you do it the other way around its lying. Also it would have crossed the line from photograph to graphic creation.

Secondly if it is done in post processing while it takes some skill to shoot the photos and post process them to look like paintings. It takes alot more skill if you paint the person to look like a painting and then light it correctly and photograph it.

but yeah I suppose they look good anyway but the context and background story to an image is important too

She's a talented painter as well as a photographer. Very impressive!
