Warranty question??

    Hi all, i'm just wondering here about the warranty on my Sony Vaio FW laptop?
    Basically i bought the laptop from the states and it was only 2 months old before christmas just gone, manufacture date is 0ct-09 and it has a 12 month U.S warranty.

    Now the laptop is perfect not a thing wrong with it but i'm getting the Macbook bug and would really like to get one and am thinking about putting my Vaio up on Adverts, now my question is that is it at all possible to purchase a 12 month warranty wether it be global or just Ireland before i sell it or do i have to wait for the current warranty to expire before buying an extended warranty from Sony?

    Any advice or info would be appreciated
