    Hi guys,

I have a 1oz South African Gold Krugerrand, It was given to me as a present on my birth from a client of my dad.

I am looking for some advice on where would be the best place to go in order to sell this, coin dealers, auction etc..

I enquired in a couple of jewellery shops in town, two didn't even know what a krugerrand was, and one other told me that with the price of gold nowadays, that it would be worth more as scrap than as a coin, & offered me €400 for it.

I would ideally like to sell it as the coin, hope someone can advise me.

    Thanks.

p.s, sorry if these questions are stupid I have little knowledge of coins/antiques etc..

Woah! Thanks for that man, I presumed that the dealers would buy it from me at a price that they could make a profit from, but that's ridiculous!

I was thinking about ebay alright but after recently being stung when selling a camera I am bit dubious... thanks very much though.
