    Move this to events mods?

Pretty flat course on Wexford backroads. Haven't seen a map of route yet though.

@ Slogger Jogger, this wasn't exactly a flat course! Miles 1 and 2 (and the same ones againg at 5 and 6) were long uphills with the wind in your face, not a day for pbs but for grueling it out. Some sections of the roads were beat-up pretty bad after this winters freezing conditions turning it into nearly a cross counry course. Lovely day for it though and plenty of tea, bickies and sandwiches afterwards (great hospitality for us travelling Dubs) even if there were no showers.

ran the leinster senior in galbally what a tough course. told it was a fast course but boy was i wrong. first of all the start was 3km from the village and all uphill then about 3km downhill with the rest of the race uphill again. road was in dire shape and i ended up running on the road edge to try and avoid the holes. windy day and then to find out the course was over 500 mtrs long not a great day for times. good job no one got injured with the state of the roads but all in all not a bad day to run a race.

I found it a very tough course. And as above the start was 3k from club house. Jogged to the start and was well warmed up before the gun went off:eek:. I never ran on hills like it before ,, long 2-3K drags. My legs/bones are very sore, not sure if i have an injury or just hill pains?
Was hoping to beat my last 10k time but was slower by a min.
    My Garmin showed 6.3 miles.
All the same it was a great day and Hats of to the club. Tea and sambos were well received.
So ill have to look to Rossalre 10K formy PB:)

Sorry to hear that surfjunky. I was operating off info from the OH that hales from near there. There is a flatter array of roads around there but they used hilly ones

Glad this wasn't in my head so :p - one of the Sli Cualann runners Michael Dowling took a split on one of bad corners, knocked him from 4th to 10th had to get treatment afterwards.

@SloggerJogger, no bother, not every road race has to be a PB; some you just have to grunt out. I agree with other posters that these were some of the longest inclines sustained over a number of Ks I've come across in a race but sure hopefully that'll just make the next race all the easier.
