    Hi,

I am looking into building a 2-storey detached in county limerick and am looking for some general info. from anybody who might have got quotes recently. How much does it cost in the current climate to build a 3000sqft house to a high standard to a builders finish in this area? How much more for a decent high-quality kitchen?
I'd also love to hear about any recommended builders.

Elle, there is an active thread on building costs on the thread underneath this which might be useful. Obviously it is not location specific but it is a good starting point. You'd nearly want to be allowing 100e per sq ft minimum to start you're budgeting process for a contractor build. So many variables which you haven't identified- windows, heating system, insulation levels, garage, concrete floors upstairs, natural slate v man made slate being some of the big ones at this early stage. Our solid walnut kitchen with quartz worktop and island is costing about 13k but again every kitchen is designed differently.

in reply to your request in reply to builders in the limerick area we used a very professional and competent building company called Riofin Ltd of Murroe Co Limerick to construct our 4500sq foot house and garage and found them very helpfull and patient during the construction process and all work was carried out to the highest standard with a very professional finish
