My brother is thinking about dropping out of his course. I did the same thing a few years ago, twice, so am not in a position to tell him not to, even if obviously i think he shouldn't. I do really want to suggest he talks to someone though, before he does, to see what his options are. Who should I suggest he talk to, about options on changing courses, or taking a year out? Should he talk to the department head, or the career guidance people?

    Try his course leader. :)

I had a couple of friends last year who wanted to drop out, he can speak to the course leader and they should be able to answer any questions or lend him a hand if hes having difficulty with the course.
If it is a matter of the course being difficult, see if hes able to talk to student further on in the course. They should be able to let him know whether to stick with it or leave it.

He should contact the CHART office - their office is located behind the reception area in the atrium.
