As above, anyone any idea why the chopper has been hovering for the past 15 minutes?

I wouldn't be sure if the folks here would know and even if they did they may be reluctant to post ' Operational Information ' on a public internet forum.

some of them may know, and granted a public internet forum may not be the best place, but something such as a search for a missing person etc would be fine and would provide a bit of info, hence why i asked.

Maybe they're looking for Mary Harney?

Most of the people who would know would not comment, but for example if a car was stolen and members of the public see it being pursued by the floodlight, and let us know that way, we'd be fine with stuff like that.

As an aside, they generally don't use helicopters to search for missing persons at night. There are far more efficient ways to search for missing persons.

It was an example, don't get your knickers in a twist. would you like me to fix it? I'm perfectly aware of S&R techniques.

Call it a hunch, but I feel a lock coming on!

Once deadwood has a hunch, that's pretty much it for any thread.
