Can anyone tell me anything about the cycling ireland overall points system. How it works.

Also in what situation does a person get moved up or down a category. Not that I have to worry about but just curious. Thanks

    Cycling Ireland Grading Guidelines

Basically you amass points from placings and wins. How many points depends on the event and distance.

Road Race 60-100km the points go 6-5-4-3-2-1 for 1st to 6th.
Road Race <60km the points go 3-2-1 for 1st to 3rd.

If you amass a certain number of points you are upgraded. To take my own example, A4 to A3 requires 10 points, which I just managed by getting 6th (1pt), 4th (3pt) and 1st (6pt) in my last three races. So started today as an A3.

It is designed to be more difficult to get up from there, 20 points required to get up to A2 (and much harder to get them.)

Do I upgraded for managing to find something on the CI website?
