Dawn of War 2 problems (after recent patch)

I downloaded the recent 'chaos rising' patch via Steam as required to continue playing the game. One the patch was installed the game's graphic settings had been restored to default. Since my coomputer isn't the fastest I always turn them down a bit. Unfortunately I turned them down too low (units are all partially invisible now, in some cases completely, making the game more or less unplayable). So now when I try change the settings again and click 'Accept' the game crashes and brings me back to Windows. Same happens when I try a 'performance test'.
So I'm basically sans DoW2 ever since the patch came along.

Anyone else experiencing similar problems / have any ideas for a solution?

Good news. The official website has just informed me that a new patch is about to be launced to fix the bugs associated with yesterday's patch.

    Modern gaming huh?
