ok, so ive looked listened and read all the advice i could find from you guy's (thanx by the way), and i've put a deposit down on a tikka t3 light stainless in 22-250, with any luck i should have it in the next week or two,

my next problem is what scope to buy, (what mod to get is the question after that:p) i've been advised to get a 6x18x50 or the such like, only thing is i dont know whitch one to get (brand or model) i got tikka mounts and rings ordered the same time i ordered the gun, their 1" rings as far as i know,

i'm looking at a 2nd hand leupold 3x9x50, not sure of the model, or a new bushnell, i know their a bit small, but i'm going to move it over to the .22 when i get a bit of cash saved, i don't see much difference between them and to be honest i think the bush just had the edge, (but then the busnell was mounted on another tikka and the luepold wasnt mounted to anyhting)

prob the best advice to get is what brands or models NOT to buy, as every1 thinks theirs is the best, i'd like to spend around £350 to £400 stg max (as im in the north:)) on the glass alone, another thing i dont like is somthing thats too fiddley in the field, one adjustment to get it focused is enough, not big on these scopes with a whole pile of knobs to adjust it so you can see the object, (i'm that bad i dont even like having to set the range on the scope before you start to set the magnification,)
thank's in the mean time yogi

You should go with a Zeiss, a Schmidt and Bender or a even a Swarovski scope if you have the cash, some can be got cheap enough (considering their prices here!) from the states on e bay if you have a look and be patient for one to pop up, new or second hand, you might save hundreds and have the confidence going out with a top class scope that you genuinely can depend on, the higer you go up in size and magnification the bigger the price, but thats up to you:D I use a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x50 on my .243 and its a real humm dinger!

If you could stretch your budget just a little more one of these would do you well.

If you are set on 50 mag get them to order you a set of 30 mm rings instead of the 1"
