Terms and Conditions/VAT

    Hi
I'm setting up an online store and I'm trying to write the terms and conditions part. I've been checking out other sites and they seem to vary quite a bit about return policies, exchanges, damaged goods, etc. I presume there must be some laws regarding these situations. Anyone know where I'd find them? I expect to have non-EU customers too. Do the same laws apply to them also?
I've noticed too that some sites don't remove the VAT when dealing with US customers. I thought that VAT wasn't charged to customers outside the EU.
I found one site in England selling the same products as I will be and they stated that HM customs require them to add VAT to the postage cost. Can that be right?
    Thanks

You need professional assistance. Consult with an accountant and possibly a solicitor. This forum is for Online buying related queries, not business start-ups. Not sure if there is an appropriate forum for that around here.
