People complain about manufactured music and this most definitely isn't. The target audience for this is an older, non chart-interested demographic who grew up with the whole show band thing. It's like the whole country and Irish thing, which although it receives no mainstream radio play is a staple on any one of a number of local radio stations around the country, with those involved in it making (very) good livings from it. This has exactly the same kind of appeal. Sure it's pure cheese, but at least it is the real (cheese) deal.

I don't like this music at all, on CD. At one point I used to master the stuff! But live performance is a different story. Many of these artists are seriously good entertainers. It's actually good fun at these gigs. It's not music for the sake of music, which is always good IMHO. Nothing worse than a bunch of musos indulging themselves.
