    Hello,

wondering what the sex ratios are for the different Irish colleges. It can differ greatly from ITs (mostly males) to universities (mostly females).

I'm a male and would prefer a mostly female environment, although I'd probably stick more with lads as friends in that environment.

That is quite possibly the worst reason I've ever heard to choose a college.

    Haha... true.

I'm actually in an IT at the moment but was wondering what the ratios were, out of interest. :)

It varies much more by course than by college. I do English Literature and Psychology, both of which are predominantly female courses (Psychology is about 80% female). Several of my friends do Computer Science and are in all-male classes or classes with exactly one girl.

I still wouldn't choose a course or college on that basis, but I hope I've assuaged your curiosity. :)

Maynooth is around 3:1 in favour of males, as in there's three times the amount of females as there is males.:)
