Linux Mint - Software/Games Question

I installed Linux Mint recently on a laptop, working perfectly as far as I can see.

However, I have a question regarding the Software Manager and specifically the games that can be installed.

I've ticked some of the boxes, and watched the software download, but I cannot find where the games have installed, or are playable.

Where do I need to navigate to to be able to play the games? They aren't appearing under the "games" section when I click on the menu.

Also, is there any way to create desktop shortcuts to the likes of Chrome or Firefox?

    Thanks.

Should be in Games section of the menu, it should update immediately maybe try a search?
You can drag shortcuts from the menu onto the desktop or just create a launcher with the application command, which also works for the games.

You can try right clicking on the menu and 'edit menu', go to the games section and see if they are there and make sure the box is checked beside their name. If they're not there have a quick look under other categories to see if they've been put in the wrong section.

Failing that you can look in:

    /usr/share/applications
    ~/.local/share/applications

You can also copy whatever launchers you want from these locations to the desktop for your second question.

If you're not having any luck with the menus:

type which tetris in a terminal to see exactly where tetris is installed
    type tetris to run it
