Third Year English

I'm in my 2nd year of a single honours in English and am hoping to get a head start on the reading for 3rd year over the summer. I'm looking for a list of the texts for certain modules as the Eng. Dep. website is useless.
I am hoping to do Shakespeare, Romanticism, Victorian Lit. and maybe Romance: Medieval to Renaissance.
I was also wondering if anyone had a list of the seminars that were available this year so I can start thinking about my options for those?
Finally, does anyone know if the Old Eng. module in 3rd year is mandatory for single honours students, as it was in 2nd year?
    Thanks:)

You could try calling into the office and seeing if they still have any copies of the information booklet for 09/10 third years left? There'll be slight changes for next year maybe, but nothing too drastic I'd say. Also if you want to do that Shakespeare module get cracking on the reading soon enough I'd say (norton complete Shakespeare, not a cheap book either, didn't do it but my housemate did and said it was very heavy going).

Unfortunately I didn't do any of the modules you want to do and I'm joint honours so I can't really help you any more than that (an OMR module was compulsory for me anyway though), apart from the list of seminars, but that's in that information booklet so go check if that's still in the office before I go typing it all out :P

    Hey mryan,

If you check out this link: http://www.ucc.ie/en/english/undergrad/ThirdYearEnglishCourses20092010/ModulesandTexts/

it gives a list of texts and modules and requirements for 3rd year English. i did Romantic Literature and Medieval to Renaissance Romance myself in 3rd year - I'd highly recommend them.

Tell me about the huge book, electro~bitch, I have it from this year!! I'm looking for an in-depth list of the shakespeare plays as it only has the norton on the reading list so that's not very helpful. The booklets are all gone unfortunately, so I guess I'm going to have to keep trying!
Thanks for the website link, rebecca but the text/font on the page is extremely small in some plaace and impossible to read!!!

Just highlight the list, copy and paste to a word document, highlight again and increase the font that way. Easy-peasy

Down the bottom of the right of the page there's a zoom function with 100% on it. Click that to zoom in. Depends on your operating system of course.
