    If you're around Dublin you could try Fallon & Byrne, have gotten it there before

    You could try stewing a butternut squash from scratch for the same purpose.

    Fallon and Byrne only stock canned pumpkin in the autumn. :(

    The butternut squash is your best bet.

    thanks guys - apparantly it was a bad year for the pumpkin crop last year - Fallon and Byrne told me they ordered twelve crates of canned pumpkin and only got four...
    I think you are correct with the butternut squash :)
