First listen to her new album today, liking it big time, a bit more melancholy than her previous stuff but looking forward to some more listens :)

Didn't really like her stuff when I gave it a quick listen a few months ago, but downloaded the new album and really enjoying it. Devil's Spoke, Alpha Shallows and (especially) Hope Is in The Air are wonderful songs. Her voice just grabs you, she sounds decades older than she actually is.

Just bumping this up here as I'm on ticketmaster now and tickets don't seem to be gone. Maybe they added some extra ones, who knows.

Should be a pretty good gig, I'm very tempted to get a ticket

Thank you good sir. Booked two on your tip, had been toying with going during the week but they were all sold out. Happy they came back up. Thanks again!

What did people think of the gig last night? I really enjoyed it, I only knew the newer stuff but I thought 'Alas I Cannot Swim' stuff probably worked even better in the live setting - more fun and vibrant. New stuff was still great though, some of the arrangements worked fantastically.

Highlight was definitely the 'fiddle' solo :)

Yup, really enjoyed it. was expecting a bit more from alas i cannot swim.

Enjoyed the cover and the story that went with it.

I have heard about timing problems at previous gigs but she seemed to be spot on.

    really amazing voice.

I thought the gig was really great. She was even better live than I was expecting. The whistling was really impressive!

Caught her on Jools. Seems to have a bit about her. Any other songs or stuff worth checking out. This her new single i think

Both albums are excellent, so well worth checking those out. There are a couple of other threads about her on here actually, worth checking those too.

    Recent thread here

Am a recent convert to hers, but I Speak Because I Can is a fine album, and her recent gig was a great night. She definitely is far more mature and talented than her young age would suggest. Hope in the Air is a favourite song of mine, although this video is brilliant:

I love Laura Marling, she's feckin' amazing. Her music and talent is really astounding, current favourite track from the new album is 'He Wrote'.

I don't get it... It's nothing new or exciting, not to me anyway.

Laura's full set from Jools. England covered in snow the stand out track here. Sign of a good artist is how they can carry a tune live and she is almost flawless here.
PJ is still the queen of indie for me but Laura not that far behind
