How long to get over it??

How long does it take to get over someone, does it depend on each relationship? I've had a couple and each seems different when it ends, depending on whether he broke up or I broke up etc. iykwim

Boyfriend broke up with me 9 weeks ago. Saw him to do the 'exchange', chat, 7 weeks ago. Last contact was when he sent me some trivial text 5 weeks ago - I didn't reply.

I thought I was doing ok but lately I've been feeling much worse and missing him more!! Still crying for him the odd time and the like, checking on facebook, phone etc. I'm becoming more miserable lately, seem to be going backwards.

I've had the chance to date a couple of times since, friend of my best friend and online but I'm not in any hurry, it scares me a bit.

Is it a case of the old adage, 'time is a healer'?.....

It varies, its mainlyyour attitude about the breakup that defines the length of time it takes, if you are positive and keep yourself busy etc the time will pass quicker, if you mope about the place well then time will drag, so my advice would be to be good to yourself, dress up tomorrow, go for lunch, do some shopping etc and just get on with life and think about mr right around the corner, and not mr just passed :)

I'd love to do lunch and go shopping and treat myself to loads of things but not possible on the dole !!! No can do.
I'll walk my dog instead and stay home alone ! I got him after ex dumped me.

I'm going to Dublin for night out & stayover next weekend which will be good diversion.
