    Hi,

I've a 2002 Ford Focus (hatchback) and the indicator repeater on the drivers side stopped working recently. I've just replaced it and it's still not working. The other side is working without any problems so I'm guessing its not a fuse.

I've my NCT in a few weeks so need to get this fixed. Any suggestions for me would be appreciated.

    Thanks

So there is no right indicator at all on the drivers (os) side? Try another bulb, or it could be the indicator stalk at fault. Pick one up from the dismantlers.

Take the repeater from the other side and just hang it on the wiring. This will tell you if the repeater is the problem or if the wiring is not delivering the juice.

Get a 12 volt tester or a multi meter and trace back the power.

    Could be a broken connection.

The front and back indicators are working correctly. It's just the side repeater located on the drivers side wing just behind the tyre.

I bought replacement repeaters on Ebay and installed them today. The driver side still doesnt work, but the new bulb on the passenger side is working correctly.

This would lead me to believe its not the bulb, but the connection or the fuse? How would the connection just stop working though?

    Also, thanks for the replies.

How do I take the repeater off the connection. Is it meant to come off? Like can I easily put it back on afterwards? I tried last night but it didnt seem like it wanted to come off and I didnt want to force it...

It will come off easy using a bank card or similar sized card. To remove the housing there is a block connector that needs to unclip.

Yeah i can get the light off, it's disconnecting the light fixture from the cable that I'm having problems with. Will try again when I get home - I noticed a sort of clip but its not immediately clear how it works.

    Thanks

Maybe a bit of WD40, then gently try in with a flat screwdriver.

You will need a test lamp or multimeter to chase the fault unless its somthing very obvious like a completely snapped off wire.

Thanks for that. I dont have that equipment so I'll need to get drop it in some place to do it for me. Would any independent mechanic be able to do it or would it be specialised?
