    Hi there,

Like a lot of people, I'm interesting in cycling to work and taking advantage of the Cycle to Work scheme.

So I'm looking at bikes to see what's out there. I don't want to spend too much ( around €500 or so I think ). Not looking for anything too fancy, just a bike that will be comfortable for my 16 mile round trip to work, and things like mud guards, chainguard etc. are advantageous. I won't be using the bike for anything else ( racing / mtb etc. )

I had a quick look in a local shop ( the shop being local helps with my job and Cycle to Work scheme ) and saw 3 that interested me :

Raleigh Special Metro ( with rear mudguard, rear pannier and chainguard ) : €360
    Raleigh Metro GLX '09 ( rear mudguard, rear panneir ) : €540
    Eurotrek Boss : €350

Obviously, the Raleigh Special Metro seems to suit my needs, it's got lots of extras for only €360, and even when I buy things like a front mudguard ( if that doesn't come with it ), lights, lock, helmet etc. I should still be around the €500 mark.

However, I am curious if the Metro GLX is that much better than the Special Metro, and maybe it'd be worth the extra money? And is the Eurotrek Boss comparable at all?

    Any advice appreciated, thanks!

    J.
