Fans of Kurosawa will be delighted to hear that Yojimbo and Sanjuro are being released on blu ray this month in the States. Both are the Criterion Collection versions, and if the Criterion Collection blu ray release of the Seventh Seal was anything to go by, then both will be must haves for me.

Chatter has it that the big one, Seven Samurai, will be following on blu ray later in the year, and it will be an upgraded version of the last US Criterion Collection release of the film, meaning it is the full 207 minute Japanese release, not the 190 minute "extended" version on sale over here or the 140 minute/150 minute versions.
