    hey guys,
i would love to know if anyone could help me out here.
i am currently in a plc college doing a 2 year course, and i am in 1st year at the moment.
i went into usit to ask if i could go on a j1 as im not in a degree course and they said yes no problem. so i booked and paid for everything and then i got an email saying i needed proof i was doing a degree course. i dont understand how i can do this as i am not doing a degree.
i went into usit again and they said bring in proof that your course is 2 years long, so i did. then they said no you need to say your doing a degree.
i seriously dont understand what they want me to do!!? why did they say it was fine if you have to be doing a degree??!!
i know they want to know you have something to come back for and your not going to stay over there illegally but wtf!!!
has any gotten a j1 when there doing a plc course??
also if they refuse your application do you get refunded??

thanks a mill and im sorry this is so long!

That's not right. They should not have told you that you can get a J1 on a PLC course in the first place. You have to be on a degree course full time in order to get one. If they won't back down I would demand a full refund. They usually won't give one but its their fault so I would fight for it.

    oh no really?!! :(
i thought it would be ok as the college and my course is listed on the website. i cant believe this! they told me so many times it was fine and i just had to prove i would be in college in september!

if you cancel your booking i dont think you can get a refund, but if they cancel it can you??
