    Pentax 645D

Looks a bit like a Phase One, which it will be marketed against.

This a 1DS MK III or a Nikon D3x? Hmmmm.... wish I had the money for decisions like that.

That's a very ugly camera. I know that's gonna be the last thing on your mind if you're splashing out on it, but still...

To be honest, i find most full frame cameras pug-ugly, never held one but I magine they feel awkward too. Alot of those medium format ones are also very blocky and ugly, like the Phase One models:

But I can't ever see myself saying "nah, I'd prefer a pretty little pen camera" :D

I only seen it in an email today, deserves a thread of it's own anyway :P

I'd love a medium format, mega-power + easy to use. Mmmm that's me baby!

use a full frame camera first then you can call it ugly. I gaze at my d700 with adoration :D

Erm, no, they're ugly looking no matter how great they are. My dream cam remains a Nikon D3x ... some day ... [probably by the time they're referred to as 'classic old cams' :D ]

[edit] actually, after looking at it, the D700 is a bit of a looker towards some of the canon ones, though I like the look of th Canon dslrs, the 1 series are UG.

    Well it's relatively affordable at $9,442 and just $1,110 for a 55mm lens. :p

I'd rate the D3x as a less all round camera than the D3 or D3s. Yes it's got more pixels but high ISO/fps shooting capabilities are more limited (for me anyway).

My next expenditure is going to be a D3s & the 24mm 1.4.....and still change left from the price of a D3x.

It's only when you use and hold a full frame camera you realise how good it feels in your hand and how ergonomic they have been designed. Smaller camera then feel fake/toyish/fiddly to use!

I wouldnt really care about how "pretty" a camera is, but that Pentax looks a bit "uncomfortable" or something, like it would be tedious to use or something.,

Medium format cams mostly get used for studio work though do they not? You don't see many Phase One photographers shooting in the street.
