Nice places to eat

    Hi all

Am treating myself to a night in Sligo tomorrow night (alone), doing Knocknarea in the morning and wandering about the shops in the afternoon. Then walking in Rosses Point on Sunday

Looking for two places in the town centre:

    1. The best spot to treat myself to a really nice bun/cake and coffee.
    2. Will be dining alone, so looking for somewhere to have a lovely meal that isn't too couply, possibly with an early bird menu. I will eat anything but have a longing for an Italian (I know that place on the 'main street' is popular but it's always mad busy and I can't cope with standing in a queue alone like a billy no mates!) :)

    Thanks everyone!

    Sounds lovely!

I think Pepper Alley for your coffee - get a window seat looking out on the river. Niiiice cakes. Twitter link: http://twitter.com/pepperalley

I know you want Italian, but there is an Indian restaurant on Market Street with lots of sectioned areas which is quite comfortable to eat in alone. Staff are really lovely too - and the food is my personal favourite in town. http://www.classicindia.ie/

Both are a 3 minute walk away from each other.

    Thanks tequila!

Definitely going to go for Pepper Alley. Have been before but wasn't sure if it was still there and/or still nice.

Am still undecided about what to eat. I remember there used to be an Italian near Pepper Alley but not sure if it was great.

I'm really looking forward to it - I love Sligo. It's my all time favourite town in Ireland - it has a bit of everything.

http://sligocaesar.com/ That's the Italian just up from Pepper Alley - I've never eaten there though. You'll probably find some reviews on here if you do a search.

    Have fun. :)

+1 on pepper ally, as for the italian, could be wrong (been a while since i've been around town), but think i heard somewhere that an italian opened in or around the quayside shopping centre or the clarence both on wine street

    Italian opened in the clarence.
    And I find caesar's nice.
