did a rescan today, and the tv (sony z4500) picked up nothing at all.. Even though i have all the channels from mullagnish and spur hill are already tuned in and working.

The tv pauses on ch21 and 45, but doesn't find anything.

    Anyone else experiancing this

Yes, same problem with both a Sony W4000 and a V4500. Irish DTT channels already stored as well. Getting DTT from Clermont Carn on channel 53. Doing a manual digital tune, the TV merely pauses on 53, no doubt detecting something, but then moves on. It's not the TV at fault I'd say, as its continuing to find and display channels from Divis. These can then be stored as normal.

I'd guess the DTT tests themselves are to blame. Something they have done has upset the digital tuner in the Sony. Interesting to know if other manufacturers TVs have been affected. Dont delete what you have, you might not get them back............!

    this happened before.
I did a factory reset, and had no dtt for a week.
I'll be leaving things alone for a while

may have changed the service type again - I'll check the transport stream in the morning, unless someone else has a look first.

Did a factory reset on an LG 19" TV (LH2000 series), it found and stored the channels no problem. Also deleted the channels and did a manual tune on a Humax trial box, it also found and stored the channels.

Tried a manual tune again on the Sony this morning. Still refusing to find Irish DTT channels. So it would appear its a Sony specific issue at the moment.

Had a quick look before heading out this morning - the Network Information Table is missing - could be causing some TV's a problem as they won't "know" what kind of service it is. Will take a closer look later.

    @SRB
Did you manage to take a closer look?

They did that to me last year as well on a French Mpeg4 box, took out some header somewhere. Scanned a week later and they were 'findable' again. It was just before they introduced the rolling news 'channel' IIRC.

Yes that seems to be the issue alright.

Network ID is missing. I thought it might be a missing country availability descriptor which causes dvb-t tuners (mainly those that were DBook spec) not to decode anything if it is missing or if a non UK ID is present.

I cant see any network identifier so I imagine thats whats confusing those tuners. Its not affecting combo boxes.

Its all tests and RTE will no doubt rectify it. They certainly have our attention.

hopefully they'll remedy the situation soon.
It's a little unnerving knowing that my tv won't tune the channels.

Good to know what the stb's will still tune in, cos if a accidently erase what i have, i can always use a spare picnic box in the interm
