Hi, My headlights are all scratched and covered in swirl marks. I was thinking about wet-sanding them with a very fine wet/dry sand paper and lacquering them. Would this be a good/bad idea? I've tried Meguiar's PlastX or whatever it is and it's rubbish. Might aswell be rubbing the headlight with CIF cream! Smells just like…

I saw a how-to on this over on one of the bmw sites. He used finer and finer grit and then metal polish to finish it off - Took about 30 mins a headlight and looked great in the end.
Thinking of doing it myself.

That's a great DIY. Only problem though is that my whole front bumper has to come off before I can take out the headlights
