Irish Channels on projector

I've recently set up my projector, i have everything working fine except the 4 Irish channels.

    FTA working fine
    DVD player working fine
    Laptop working fine

All through a hdmi connection to the projector.

I have one of those new arials in the attic to receive the Irish channels even when they go digital (working fine on TV in living room)

My main problem is i have nothing to plug the wire into(the one that normally goes into back of TV)
Do i need some sort of tuner?

My DVD player has plenty of connections
    (http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/h/hts3376_12/hts3376_12_pss_aen.pdf)

but i'm not sure if any of them will work for what i need.

    Any help appreciated

This might seem like an awful fix but it works perfect. A good old traditional VCR will accept an aerial connection, it will act as a tuner and decode your channels and give you Scart or composite out which can go into your projector or AV unit. New VCR 99 euro in argos Nicam etc. As I say crude but works a treat....

"one of those new aerials in the attic"...it makes no difference whether what youre receiving is digital or not...the aerial would be just the same as any aerial receiving UHF....this tends to be a ruse on the part of people flogging tv aerials.... There is no such thing as a digital TV aerial!!

Anyhow, rant over! To solve your problem, Id suggest getting a combo box...something like the Mvision HD300. This will take satellite free to air channels from your dish, and domestic digital TV channels from your aerial and combine them so that (say) channels 1-4 are the four irish channels and 5 and upwards are the free to air channels from your dish.

You dont mention where you are located, but if your aerial is pointed towards any of the major transmitters, then you should be able to receive the four irish channels in digital.

Most combo units have multiple outputs (scart, RGB, optical etc) so it shouldnt be a problem connecting it to the DVD.

If you need any more details, PM me.

By the way, Id be interested to hear what kind of projector your using and your feedback on it. I havent invested yet so all input is most welcome!
