Internet trouble

    Hi all,

just got a new problem on my laptop. It seems to be having trouble accessing certain sites such as hotmail, BBC and facebook, but no trouble getting to other sites such as google or here. I'm using Firefox and I just get "Page Load Error, Connection Interrupted. The document contains no data. The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection. Please try again." when trying to get into my inbox, even though I can get to msn.com no bother. Similarly when going to facebook I get a very stripped down homepage with no images apart from my profile pic and cannot get any further than the home page so even though I can see I have messages in my inbox I can't get to them.

I tried IE and that has stopped working completely, can access nothing with that. I'm using Perlico broadband but there is nothing wrong with the internet connection, I diagnosed it and all seemed well and everything seems to work fine on my brother's laptop.

Any suggestions as I have tried the whole restart trick and then I was all out of ideas :pac:?

My laptop is Acer Aspire 5920 with Vista.

sounds to me like you might have firewall problems, that is to say that your settings are over protecting the computer check start>control pannel>security center.. and check the settings... spy ware doctor is good to have and you should run it fairly often and it works away happly by its self....BTW cool name... you read the Colleen McCullough books on rome ??? very good..

Thanks for the help, it seems to be back working now. I'll download the software, really should have had it sooner.
