Considering one week here plus a second week in S.France in a campsite.

What's Sitges like? Hopefully no yobs??

Dr Nick, its been over 4 years since I've been to Sitges so not sure how much it may have changed since then.
We went off season (October) and had a lovely time. Didn't see any yobs, but then we were staying at the hotel at the very end of the promenade (Playa Golf hotel) which is about a mile from the main part of the town.
Your probably already know that Sitges would be very gay friendly, and the pubs and clubs along the main areas can get quite busy.
However we found a lot of nice little tapas bars tucked away on side streets if we wanted a break from the noise.

The promenade itself is beautiful, and there is a marina at one end of it with plenty of expensive looking yachts :D

I would recommend Sitges for good beach, nice & cheap food, great transport links to Barcelona (trains every half an hour or so during the day, and only cost about 3 euro to go in to Barca from Sitges), all the cava you could drink and some nice activities (such as sailing camps) for kids.

    HTH
