Roof Insulation - Cold Bridge at Closer

    Have been insulating my roof for last two weeks.

    Have put some fiber glass over the cavirty closer as shown in the figure attached. Made sure to keep an air gap of about 40 mm. Just wondering what people think of this?

    One worry i had was that the fiberglas would get damp and rot the wall
    plate?

    Fibregalss is quite open to wind penetration which means 2 things

    1. any condensation will be whipped away quickly your timbers will not rot
    2. Sadly , the thermal performance will also degrade due to wind penetration

    Well done for the effort however better to do this than not .

    IF - IF - you had the budget then it would be better locally to strip the roof , from scaffolding , and use pvc vent rolls over the rafter to then allow a full pack- in of insulation into "the eaves box"

    For a DIY job you have done an optimal job - well done .
