Maybe we should have a general thread for the clubs and socs of ITT. Anybody who is part of one could throw in a piece about what they do etc.

I'm part of the Adventure Club, website here.

We mainly kayak with pool sessions on Tuesday and trips most weekends. All types of kayaking - surf, river etc.

There are usually one or two surfing trips a year. One of the lads organises some rock climbing and we have gone shooting too. We're open to all and we try any activities that somebody is in to :)

@ Pika, you help run ITT FM right? What's that like? Always had an interest in radio, just never got involved for some reason.

I'm not a student [yet, Sept fingers crossed] but this sound deadly

    Where did you go shooting?

Is it for any levels of experience?

It was one of the ranges in Wexford, only about 40 mins outside Dublin. We shot clay pigeons, targets and tried some archery. There were two lads that were in the Reserves so they had shot before and two others who have their own bows so they were good at the archery but everyone else was a beginner or had very little shooting experience.

Yeah, I'm the Public Relations Officer for the society! :)
It's good fun and great, practical experience for anyone who wants to learn more about the world of radio and radio production.

ITT FM runs for two weeks a year - In September, for Freshers' Week and for RAG Week in February.

People involved in the society get a chance to present their own shows, operate the sound desk, help with researching and generally, help out in whatever way they want, during those two weeks.

For the rest of the year, we just work on things like training workshops and organise our own socials - we all get on like a house on fire! :D

The society's open to anyone in the college and the more people, the merrier! New faces are always welcomed, even if you just want to join for a bit of fun, rather than to get heavily involved :)

    Brilliant Idea, Tefari.

I'm part of the Games Society. We organize fun events for casual and hardcore gamers and some tournaments for any videogames that are popular enough. You'll usually see us around the place. Anyone who's interested in playing some games should come along to room 210 on Wednesdays from 3pm to 5pm, we tend to have an N64 and a Wii in there, but we switch it up every week.

We're all about the fun. =]
