Major virus

Hey guys, my computer is messed up majorly with a virus. It has installed some thing called Dr.Guard and it keeps bringing popups saying my computer is infected as if it is a firewall but I didn't install it so its the virus I would assume. The computer is barely useable and the main problem is I can't even use the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, that I installed before as when I click it a pop up comes up in the bottom right hand cornor of the screen saying "Danger! You are running a trial antivirus software."
I went into control panel and remove programs and found Dr. Guard but it won't let me uninstall it I click it and nothing happens. I can't even get into Control Panel it has taken over the computer. Major help needed as soon as possible. Thanks very much.

EDIT: I am not very useful on computers so it may not be a virus, just its what came to mind. I am on Windows XP as well.

If the other suggestions don't work, you can try to boot into Safe Mode and use System Restore to go back to a point in time before this happened. However, don't stop there! Once you successfully restore (you might have to try a couple of restore points) you will want to go to the system applet in control panel to turn off System Restore. Run a complete virus and malware scan and remember to turn System Restore on once again.

Some of these bugs will not only infect your computer, but make changes to the registry and other system files which remain even after the bug is long gone. The system restore addresses that. However, System Restore also retains the bad with the good, so turning it off clears all old restore points with potential infection. However, you want to turn it back on so it can save your bacon the next time.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Dr. Guard is a rogue anti-spyware program from the same family as Paladin Antivirus. This rogue is promoted and installed through the use of fake alert Trojans that advertise the program on your desktop. This rogue is also known to be bundled with the TDSS, or TDL3, rootkit. As MBAM is not capable of removing this rootkit, you may need to request further assistance from,

    hi

Please download DDS and save it to your desktop.
    • Disable any script blocking protection
    • Double click dds.pif to run the tool.
    • When done, two DDS.txts will open.
    • Save both reports to your desktop.

Please include the contents of the following in your next reply:

    DDS.txt
    Attach.txt.
