Recently moved into an apartment that has the above gas boiler. Since we've moved in we've been having problems heating the main bedroom. So I've been tryin different settings on the boiler and thermostat but nothing seems to work. The strange thing is, in the morning the radiators are very hot but in the evening they barely get warm. Its the same settings so why should it be different. Only difference is that we've the hot water on in the morning and not in the evening. But that shouldn't make any difference. Any ideas what the problem might be?

You could have a mid-position valve that's not working right, or else somebody piped the radiator in the main bedroom to the hot water, although that seems unlikely.

It should not make any difference but I think it is. There is a red wheel on the bottom of your cylinder I think this is closed. it should be open half way. However if you start to mess with it you can unbalance your system. Granted you cannot do much worse

There is something strange further in what your saying. If the heating is on the hot water is on. If the hot water is on the heating can be off but they both work together or hot water alone

So its not the valve according to the electrician. He did tho turn up the thermostat to 30 degrees from what we had of 22.5 degrees. The place is boiling now!! What should the thermostat be at? Cos at 30 degrees the heating bill would be crazy!!

I'd say anywhere from 18 to 21 is comfortable for most people.
