I was just wondering about "graduate jobs" (e.g. with the big consulting firms) - do they only take fresh graduates or would they look at you if you've graduated and been working for a couple of years in a kindof crap job?

    Anybody any notion?

I have been applying for a few "Graduate Jobs" since Xmass, and I have a couple of years experience after I graduated. I have applied for a couple of things, had an interview for the IBEC EOP Grad Prog this week, they accept graduates from all disciplines. Also applied for the Enterprise Ireland Grad Prog and have done an online appitute test for that.

I just keep an eye on gradireland website, and some of the college websites, this is helpful http://cvs.gradireland.com , you can select any of the college job websites in Ireland and I have spotted some of the grad programmes through this. I think if you a graduate, then why not apply

    In the same boat.

Dont discount a graduate job, if anything your experience will stand to you. Thik it would be important to show why you want to change/"go back" to a graduate job.

Also did the EI test. How did you find it?

Sometimes Graduate jobs are more aimed at 0-3 years experience and Masters etc. I found a lot of them had requirements that would rule out most fresh graduates so you probably have a much better chance. Just highlight what you've learned from your experience, and don't tell them you worked a 'crappy' job :D

I found it really tough! I dont have a business/marketing background, and I found it quite difficult, tbh I kinda guessed some of them! And I didnt even get them nearly all finished in the time allocated.

The end questionaire where you allocate the 6 points to the different categories, I gave 2 each to a lot of them Im not sure if this was right either!

    How did you find it??

Same, found it difficult and didnt get either finished :(

Found the points allocation thing difficult to do as well, not sure how much is attributed to it either.

Dont have a language so not too confident about the job!

Good luck making the next stage:D!!!

I found it quite difficult and only anwered around 18-20 out of the 37 questions for each of the numerical and verbal reasonings.
The personality test was a bit of a mind fcuk to be honest.
I wonder when we're going to hear if we passed the next stage?

Yeah i think thats the point of the personality test, to see how people reacted.

Deadline is 9 tonightso i would guess over the next few days, possibly friday. Interviews are 29th to 30th so i it will have to be soonish

Sounds like everyone found it tough, I guess they have so many applicants they have to try to narrow it down a bit. Didnt even get near finishing all the questions either. I would expect that we should here by the end of the week or early next week and they will have to give appointments for the assessment centre stage.

Best of luck to everyone anyhow, will post when I get word!

I used to work in China so applied to go back there. I hope there won't be too much competition from Chinese students who studied here (and with marketing degrees as well :( ) Or is this only open to Irish grads?

    Anyone else? :)
