I´m currently waiting for my JSA and it should be through in another month or so. I´ve moved house in the mean time (from D1 to D6) and from non-rented accommodation to rented. So I have 2 questions:

    1) Should I tell them I´ve moved house and it needs to be dealt with by another Social Welfare office? Could this add to the lenght of the application? Would I need to start again?

    2) How can I apply for Rent Allowance while the other application is going through?

    Thanks

Yes you need to tell them as soon as possible. If a social welfare inspector calls to your old address and you aren't living there, your claim will be closed.
You go to your nearest Community Welfare Officer to apply for Rent Allowance.

Thanks. Do I need to reapply or can I can continue with the current application in the Social Welfare office in D1?

You will need to go to your local office for your new address. You will have to go to their claims area and request your claim be transferred to their office.

I take it there would be no problem here? i.e. it would still be backdated to when i went to the other office first (early February)? Thanks for your help!

Yeah your claim will still go from the date you applied for it.
