Does anyone else think Alicia Keyes & JayZ may be on a retainer from the New York tourist board for their 'New York' song? By my reckoning it gets about 20 mentions in the course of the song. There it is slowly seaping in to your subconscious to the point where you think I'd like to go to that 'concrete jungle where dreams are made of'.
It's a catchy number to their credit.

Up until last week i thought the lyrics went:
"Concrete jungle with green tomatoes"
(pronounced the American way though:tom-ay-toes)

I now know it is "where dreams are made of":D

Anyway............
Surely Billy Joel, Frank Sinatra etc etc should also be accused of the same..

Daniel O'Donnell has been singing about his love of home - I don't feel inclined to rush over there!
Can't see him being paid by the tourist board.

As for Alicia Keyes & JayZ - I suppose if they sing of New York, I'd be tempted to head any other direction but towards them and what they sing of!
(Their singing/songs I don't like.)

I hear ya dude - it's kinda like the way Madonna was surely working for the abstinence movement when she brought out a particular single a good few years back: honestly, I don't think I've heard the word "virgin" so many times throughout the course of one song.
