Recommended Knee specialist in Cork?

    Hi there,

My apologies if this isn't the right place to post this.

Can anyone recommend, through personal experience or that of a friend, a knee specialist in Cork for a consultation? An MRI scan has suggested a tear in both the posterior cruciate ligament and the meniscus cartilage of my knee.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you know of a more suitable forum for this posting please suggest.

    Thanks.

tadhag o sullivan is widely regarded as one of the best knee specialist in the country and he is only an hour and twenty minutes away from you in whitfield hospital waterford.
a lot of people swear by him for sports injuries and he has done a lot of the kilkenny and waterford hurlers

Thanks for that SUNGOD. Looks like I'm going with James Harty. He's based in Cork so it'll be much more convenient. If it'd be of any interest you I can let you know how I've got on. My consultation should be in April.

You're lucky - I've been given an appointment for an MRI on my knee for July 2012! Isn't it just pathetic?!!

If you have insurance you could have an MRI in a couple weeks. If not, it'll cost you about €350, which would probably be worth it considering the 2 years long wait you'll otherwise experience.

I'd hope that your luck is better then mine though and that the MRI indicates a perfectly healthy knee in your case :)
