Have just applied for a pre selection course as a FCI which involves an initial suitability exam next month. I believe it is mostly mathematics based but have no idea what type.

Will try and find out more at work but just wondering if any members of AGS have done anything like this recently or is this a new format of selection. Any help or info on the kind of exam it is would be appreciated, Thanks.

It'll be mostly, if not all, Applied Maths. Have a look at the LC books/courses.

yeah did it for the LC but that was over 10 years ago. Stick an applied maths question in front of me now! Might as well be a rocket science quiz. Must do some research. Thanks

    All applied maths!

I did an applied maths project on forensic colliision investigation nearly 2 years ago looking at the techniques and all, its applied maths with some physics aswell.

And general observation skills, photography etc etc

As the lads said Applied maths and some Physics. You'll get all the formulas so be able to manipulate them.

Are they taking members from regular for that now too??

Don't have all the info NGA as far as I know it's open to everyone. I'd take a guess that it's a traffic position if you're selected.

Very good.....at least they offered it to everyone even if you are appointed to Traffic!! A lot, myself included missed out the last time when members were just "selected" for it!!!

in AGS?? that would never happen man!!!!!

and it should be open to all members

similar to the way you have traffic members getting pisitions in scenes of crime units!!!!
