I was in BT last saturday as I was looking for a new eye brown pencil. I was at the bobbi brown counter, saw a pencil I liked and asked could I try it on before I bought it. As it was being applied the assistant asked me what colour foundation I was wearing. I told her I was using the Bobbi Brown tinted moisturiser, she asked me what colour was it, I could not remember. Then she went on to say my neck was a different colour to my face and the colour was not quiet right. I was absolutely furious I was recommended this colour exactly 3 weeks ago from the same counter. When she showed me the mirror I could see exactly what she was talking about. Is there anyway you can return something like a tinted moisturiser? I have used it only about 3 times, I dont think I can use it again when something like that is pointed out to me....what a waste of money

You can't do anything. There isn't actually anything wrong with the product, it just doesn't suit your skin tone. You can't return it.

Sorry if this sounds really bitchey, but did you not try a little on before you bought it? Surely you'd notice the difference.

well it may not work but ask for a manager & bring the receipt & say you were reccommended the foundation by one member of staff & then another told you it was not suitable. Did you mention it to the girl after she said it didnt suit?
Might not work but i would try it- they may give you a voucher or something

I'd definitely try to get it changed/get a voucher....

Either they teach their staff how to apply and choose make-up properly or they don't. You trusted the girl at the counter and she got it wrong. It's not like it was an eyeshadow or lipstick, something where the colour is really obvious. Foundations and tinted moisturiser can be hard enough to choose and last thing you want is so-called 'professionals' selling you a product that doesn't suit you and charging you for the pleasure!

Ah that's really bad form. I'd def speak to a manager and try to push for getting a credit note or refund or something. The reason people splash out at expensive counters like Bobbi Brown is for the advice and help from the staff. And the fact that it was another of their own staff who pointed out there error means they can be in no doubt that the product is wrong for you.

One of Bobbi Brown's big selling points is matching foundation etc shades perfectly for a natural look so that's pretty strange.
Is there any chance you were more tanned at the time you bought it, or would it work for you in the summer?

Your foundation shouldn't match your neck, it should match your face. Your face gets much more sun exposure than your neck so it's usually a totally different colour.

I've brought back things I used and didn't like to Lancome and Clinique. They are generally very good about returns. Just say your piece as you said it here and they'll help you out.
