Help! Can i put 2 printer networks on the 1 server?

Trying to set up a small printer network in work. I can get it to run on one pc off a virtual port ( i.e not using the printer ip) but keep getting a communication error when i run it on other pcs ( when i input the printer ip ) . I am thinking it is maybe because there is another printer on the server , can anyone help me…
