Just thought I'd let people know about a website I found today. Not sure if its been posted before. Its called www.autozone.com
Its aimed at the American market and so doesnt really have a lot of the european models on it but it may help you if your stuck one day if you don't have access to Autodata or similar.
As I say its not the best website around but it could come in handy when looking for technical info or diagrams etc. :)

EDIT: Also it may be handy if anybody else has links to online resources that may be of use to someone, to post them here and maybe it'll be stickied?

http://www.realoem.com is very handy for BMW/MINI parts. It's essentially the exact system the Parts Counter use at your local dealership, and if you know what you want, you can order parts then locally with just the part numbers - bypassing any screwups the untrained counter staff might make otherwise.

It's also dead handy if you're ordering stuff from up North.

http://www.minitechinfo.com is also a very very handy site, but it's not free. It's all the technical service bulletins for all MINIs, and I think a few BMWs. It's basically the PUMA system mechanics use at the garages, but it's 30 dollars to access it for a day. You also need a US address (Any McDonalds will do for that), and you need to setup your browser agent to replicate some old browser from the dawn of time to get it working. Worth it though if you're stuck.

http://www.bmminiparts.com/ is a handy site to use, in tandem with realoem.com - you can get £ quotes for parts and make considerable savings! I always use both to cross reference part numbers as realoem can be a bit misleading at times.

An alternative BMW parts catalogue to www.Realoem.com is:

    http://www.bmwfans.info

(it gives guideline € prices too so that is one thing that makes it slightly better. If you want to get UK pricing for BMW parts (for comparison to how much we are being ripped off) take the part number you find above & put it in to this site, remove all the spaces between the numbers though:
